First bottle of Ness whisky raises £300 for dig funds
The first bottle of the limited-edition Ness of Brodgar’s Legacy whisky was auctioned at tonight’s pre-dig lecture and raised £300 for excavation funds.
Bidding, which started at £100, was brisk as bidders sought to acquire the bottle, which bore the signatures of the Highland Park’s head distiller and Ness of Brodgar dig director Nick Card.
Bottle Number One sold for the grand total of £300.
Five-thousand bottles of the 12-year-old single malt have been produced with a percentage of the proceeds from sales to connoisseurs across the globe going to the Ness excavation funds.
The whisky is officially launched in Stenness at the weekend.
Many thanks to all the bidders who took part in tonight’s auction.
