2024’s top ten – another two of Ceiridwen’s decorated stones
Earlier this month, I did Ceiridwen a disservice by saying she’d found two decorated stones this season. In fact, she found five!
The incised slab above was one of two from Structure Seventeen, and featured the triangular, lightly incised motifs we’ve come to know and love. The decoration was reminiscent of that on the huge stone block found under one of Structure Ten’s secondary buttresses in 2013.
Then, a few days later, also in Seventeen, she uncovered a substantial stone with a single, deeply incised band of geometric decoration…
